Beechwood smoke and herbal tipples

When it comes to local delicacies, Halberstadt is best known for its world-famous "Halberstädter Würstchen", sausages smoked over a beechwood fire. These are joined by an abundance of other regional treats for the taste buds.

Specialities such as trout from the streams of the Harz, game from local forests, beef products from Harzer Rotvieh cattle and lamb and wine delicacies from the Harz foreland count celebrities like George Clooney among their fans.

Be sure to also try Halberstadt's very own herbal liqueurs, "Daneils Räuberblut" and "Rostnagel", or treat yourself an aromatic coffee from the Rösterei-Manufaktur Löper roasting house.
